Biggest and smallest Jose Fans!
I have been a Canseco fan since I was 7 years old. I remember how I became a fan. He was the first player I ever saw hit a homerun. I soon realized that other players hit homeruns, but none like Jose. This player had something no others had, he had presence. I am now 25 years old and am more a fan now than I have ever been. I recently added a member to my family by way of a baby girl named Anna born last November. I will raise her right, as a Canseco fan.

One fan's words for Jose
Hey, my name is Dan. I'm from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I've been a big Jose Canseco fan since 1986 when he came into the league. I've followed his career, and it was a treat to see him in person when he came to Toronto. I've attended to a lot of games here in Toronto, and the best moment was seeing Jose hit his first homerun as a Blue jay in 1998. The feeling was amazing; I had a big smile on my face for days. I've collected Canseco stuff for years, and have picked up some nice stuff. Some of my favorite items are a 1988 home game used jersey, a 1987 home game used jersey, a 1990 home game used jersey.

Jose joins long drivers!
by Russ Pate

SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS -- Former major league slugger Jose Canseco will make his debut on the 2004 Long Drivers of America (LDA) Tour in Tulsa on Thursday, May 20.

Canseco will compete at Tee Town Golf Ranch in suburban Broken Arrow for one of four available spots in the 48-hitter open division field. Thursday's qualifier, which features a modified double-elimination format, begins at 2:30 p.m.

A press conference for Canseco is scheduled for 12 p.m. Tee Town Golf Ranch is located at 7401 South 209th East Avenue in Broken Arrow. The phone number is (918) 355-4727.

During his 17-year major league career, Canseco hit 462 home runs and was named to seven American League All-Star teams. In 1988, as a member of the Oakland A's, he became baseball?s first 40-40 man (homers/stolen bases).

"Long Drivers of America welcomes Jose Canseco to the sport of professional long drive," said LDA owner/chief executive officer Art Sellinger. "Everyone on our tour is eager to see how he will stack up against the biggest hitters in golf. Obviously, he is a world-class athlete with tremendous strength and superb hand-eye coordination. He's yet another great athlete who's been drawn to long drive competition by our sport's energy and excitement."

Tulsa is the third stop for the 2004 LDA Tour, which features competition in three divisions -- open, women and senior (45-up) -- and total purses of $600,000-plus.

Additional information on the 2004 LDA Tour is available at

Jose Keeps a Life-Long Fan

One of Jose's biggest fans met up with Jose at an autograph signing last quarter of 2003.  His experiance was in his words ""My Dream Come True".  Here's what Gary has to say:

My name is Gary Manion and I am from Ohio.  I've been a Jose Canseco fan since I was 11 years old.  I'm 28 now and one of my lifetime dreams was to meet Jose in person.  On Oct. 26, 2003 my dream came true.  Jose was doing an autograph signing in Chantilly, VA so my wife, Krissy, and I drove there.   I was really nervous but excited to meet him.  We were secon in line to get our items signed.  Jose was really cool about signing our items and taking his time while talking to us.  After the signing, Jose invited us to go out to dinner with him.  I couldn't belive it!  ...
